2025-2026 Exeter High School Freshman Class
Arts in Action Murals
Racial Unity Team was honored to be represented in one of the four murals created by
Exeter High School’s freshman class this year.
This recognition reflects our continued impact in the SAU 16 community and our selection as a recipient of the 2025 Superintendent’s Community Partnership Award. Our Executive Director, Kelly Touhey-Childress, was chosen as the subject of the mural in recognition of her commitment to and presence within the school community.
These murals were part of the Arts in Action Project, an interdisciplinary collaboration across the freshman English and Social Studies departments, engaging students in exploring community, identity, and civic impact through creative expression.
We invite you to check out these beautiful murals, created by 330 students. Each mural is composed of 100 individual squares, and students were mentored throughout the process by artist Eric Gold.
We are deeply grateful for this recognition and inspired by the creativity, collaboration, and community spirit reflected in these incredible works of art. The project is a powerful reminder of how the arts can bring learning to life, foster connection, and help young people see themselves as active contributors to their communities.
